Itinerary:
Day 1: Marrakech – Ait Ben Haddou – Ouarzazate – Dades Valley
Your 4-day tour from Marrakech to Fes via Merzouga begins with an early morning departure from your hotel or riad in Marrakech. You’ll cross the majestic High Atlas Mountains through the Tizi n’Tichka Pass (2,260m), one of Morocco’s most scenic drives.
Along the way, we stop at panoramic viewpoints and small Berber villages nestled on the mountain slopes. Our first major stop is the Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Morocco’s most iconic landmarks. Famous for its appearances in movies such as Gladiator and Game of Thrones, this ancient fortified village showcases traditional Moroccan earthen architecture.
After lunch in Ait Ben Haddou, we continue towards Ouarzazate, known as the “Gateway to the Sahara” and home to the famous Atlas Film Studios. From here, we travel through the Skoura oasis, known for its palm groves and ancient kasbahs, then follow the Valley of Roses before reaching the Dades Valley, where you’ll spend the night in a charming riad or hotel overlooking the spectacular Dades Gorges.

Day 2: Dades Valley – Todra Gorge – Merzouga Desert
After breakfast, our journey continues through the Dades Valley, following the Road of a Thousand Kasbahs, a scenic route lined with ancient fortresses and Berber villages. We then arrive at the Todra Gorge, a breathtaking canyon with towering cliffs reaching up to 300 meters high. Here, you can enjoy a short walk along the river or simply relax and take in the natural beauty.
Next, we drive through Erfoud, known for its fossil workshops, and reach the village of Merzouga, the gateway to the Erg Chebbi dunes. Here, your camel trekking adventure begins. You’ll ride your camel through the golden dunes as the sun sets, painting the desert in shades of gold and orange — a truly magical experience.
Upon arrival at your luxury desert camp, you’ll be greeted with mint tea and enjoy a delicious Moroccan dinner under the stars. The night comes alive with Berber music and drumming around the campfire — an unforgettable Sahara night.

We pass through Rissani, the birthplace of the Alaouite dynasty, and explore its traditional souk, one of the most authentic markets in Morocco. Then, we cross the Ziz Valley, a beautiful stretch of palm trees and oases that line the Ziz River, and continue through the Tizi n’Talghamt Pass to Midelt, located between the Middle and High Atlas Mountains.
