3 Days Trip From Marrakech To Fes

Day 1: Marrakech – Ait Ben Haddou – Ouarzazate – Dades Valley

Your adventure begins early in the morning as we depart from Marrakech and drive through the spectacular High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n’Tichka Pass (2,260 m). Enjoy panoramic views, mountain villages, and photo stops along the way.

Our first major stop is at the legendary Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Morocco’s most famous film locations. You’ll have time to explore the narrow streets of this ancient fortress, which has appeared in movies like Gladiator and Game of Thrones.

After lunch, we continue to Ouarzazate, known as the “Gateway to the Desert.” We visit Atlas Film Studios (optional) and the Kasbah Taourirt, before heading towards the Dades Valley through the Road of a Thousand Kasbahs.

Arrive in Dades Gorge by evening, where you’ll enjoy dinner and an overnight stay at a charming riad overlooking the valley.

Day 2: Dades Valley – Todgha Gorges – Merzouga (Erg Chebbi Desert)

After breakfast, we drive through the beautiful Dades Valley toward the dramatic Todgha Gorges, one of Morocco’s most spectacular natural canyons. Take a walk between the towering cliffs and meet local Berber families who live in the area.

We then continue our journey toward Merzouga, crossing desert towns such as Erfoud and Rissani, known for their local markets and fossils. As we approach the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi, the scenery becomes magical.

Upon arrival in Merzouga, your desert adventure begins. You’ll ride a camel caravan across the dunes while the sun sets, painting the sky in shades of gold and red.

After reaching your luxury desert camp, enjoy traditional Moroccan mint tea, a delicious dinner, and Berber music around the campfire under a sky full of stars.

Day 3: Merzouga – Ziz Valley – Midelt – Ifrane – Fes

Wake up early to witness one of the most breathtaking sunrises over the Sahara Desert. After breakfast at the camp, you’ll ride camels (or take a 4×4 transfer) back to Merzouga village to meet your driver.

We then travel north through the Ziz Valley, famous for its lush palm groves and traditional mud-brick villages. Continue toward Midelt, a town nestled between the Middle and High Atlas Mountains, where you’ll stop for lunch.

The journey continues through the scenic Cedar Forests near Azrou, where you might encounter wild Barbary macaque monkeys. Our final stop is the charming mountain town of Ifrane, known as the “Switzerland of Morocco,” before arriving in Fes in the evening.

Your driver will drop you off at your hotel or riad in Fes — marking the end of an unforgettable 3-day journey across Morocco.
