3 Days from Marrakech to Merzouga Desert

Day 1: Marrakech – Ait Ben Haddou – Ouarzazate – Dades Valley

Your journey begins early in the morning as we depart from Marrakech and head south across the stunning High Atlas Mountains. The road winds through traditional Berber villages and dramatic mountain scenery before reaching the Tizi n’Tichka Pass, offering panoramic views of the surrounding peaks.

Our first stop is the Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site famous for its mud-brick architecture and Hollywood history — featured in movies such as Gladiator, Lawrence of Arabia, and Game of Thrones. You’ll have time to explore the kasbah and enjoy lunch nearby.

Afterward, we continue to Ouarzazate, known as the gateway to the Sahara and home to the Atlas Film Studios. Then we travel through the Road of a Thousand Kasbahs, passing palm groves and fortified villages until we arrive at the Dades Valley, where you’ll enjoy dinner and an overnight stay in a charming hotel or riad.

Day 2: Dades Valley – Todgha Gorges – Merzouga Desert (Erg Chebbi)

After breakfast, we drive through the Dades Valley, famous for its dramatic rock formations and winding roads, before arriving at the Todgha Gorges. You’ll have time to walk between the towering cliffs and take stunning photos of this natural wonder.

We then continue through Erfoud and Rissani, two important towns known for fossils and the local date market, before reaching the edge of the Sahara Desert in Merzouga.

Upon arrival, your camel caravan awaits. Ride across the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi while the sun sets, creating one of the most magical landscapes in Morocco.

At the luxury desert camp, enjoy traditional mint tea, a delicious Moroccan dinner, and an evening of Berber music around the campfire. Spend the night in a comfortable private tent beneath a canopy of stars.

Day 3: Merzouga – Draa Valley – Ouarzazate – Marrakech

Wake up early to witness a breathtaking sunrise over the dunes — an unforgettable highlight of the Sahara experience. After breakfast at the camp, you’ll ride camels (or transfer by 4×4) back to Merzouga, where your driver will be waiting.

We’ll begin our journey back to Marrakech, driving through the Draa Valley, known for its endless palm groves and ancient kasbahs. We stop for lunch in Ouarzazate before crossing the High Atlas Mountains once more to reach Marrakech in the evening.

Your driver will drop you off at your accommodation, marking the end of your unforgettable 3-day desert adventure.
